We will continue our tour to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman is strate-gically built on a hill from where you can see all of Cusco. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons.
The next site we will visit is located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, has the archaeological groups of Q’enqo Grande and Q´enqo Chico that fulfilled a purely religious function.
Tambomachay, this place is also called Inca Baths. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and several waterfalls that run through the rocks. The sur-prising thing about this is that from one main waterfall, the Incas created 2 sec-ondary waterfalls, which are exactly the same. That is to say, if one places two empty bottles, one in each waterfall, the 2 are filled at the same time.
Finally we will visit Puka pukara means “red fortress”, because the calcareous stones with which it is built have acquired the reddish coloration of the land, very abundant in iron. It is alleged that it had the function of guarding Tambo-mach’ay, an important palace in the Inkario.

Day 02: Maras & Moray
The Salineras de Maras are located to the northwest of the town of Maras are constituted by about 3000 small wells with an average area of about 5 m², dur-ing the dry season they are filled or “irrigated” every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural spring located at the top of the wells so that when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it solidifies gradually.
Moray is about 7 km southwest of Maras; it is the only archaeological group of its kind in the region. It was used in a fairly advanced biological experimental form for its time that helped the American man of antiquity inherit to humanity 60% of the vegetable products it consumes.
